Team Selection 1. Any member is eligible for selection for matches and should make themselves known to Men�s, Ladies� and one of the Vets captains. Captains of lower teams (such as Paul Messing, Mike Swift, Gill Snelgar and Rosie Clarke) would be the ideal persons that might be able to introduce new talent through that route and recommend any talent to other captains . 2. Members can also demonstrate their ability and readiness for team selection by entering the Club Tournaments and playing against those who are already deemed to be �team� players. 3. Match Practice nights on Monday (for Ladies ) and Wednesday (for Men) is another opportunity that captains can see prospective �team� players and they will be given a chance to show their paces. 4. Teams are currently selected on merit based upon the judgement of the captains. Team Selection Criteria :- - Ability - Commitment. - Reliability. - Compatibility of pairings. - Availability - Behaviour. For the top teams, more emphasis is placed on ability. For the lower teams, more emphasis is placed on reliability and commitment. The Aim is for the top teams to compete at as high a level as possible, while always playing within the competitive amateur spirit. For the lower teams, the objective is to compete, but still aiming to win. All selections are at the discretion of the team captains.
