MLTC Summer Ball is on 10th May 2008 Almost 100 have signed up but Phyllis Court can take more if there is the demand so come along by yourself, with your spouse, partner, friends (it is a good excuse to get a bundle of friends together as some members do)

The list is on the notice board next to the kitchen. Alternatively, email Orapin ( orapin@ukonline.co.uk )

Next American Tournament is on Sun 11 May - sign up on the notice board - numbers are already over 20.

BBQ is on 12th July.

MLTC Annual Ball 17th Nov 2007
Our annual ball is closer to home than in the last few years so you can even walk home if need be. Sign up list will be appearing on the notice board soon - it might be there already. So get a party together or go on your own - many of us do and all have a great time.

Quiz on Saturday July 21st. 7:30pm

No change of format, but why spoil a good design. In the last Quiz Night (Nov 2006) Mike Bottomly designed, ran and kept score in another sell out Quiz Night. The Smart Alecs (Prices, Smarts et al) were put out by a question suggesting that Limehouse was the railway station in Liverpool and they never regained their balance. The Pretentious Plonkers (News et al) led by 1 point at the half way mark but Seymour Butts (Mike Swift & crew) stormed through to win the title by 8 points for the first time. PP and SA tied for second place. SB promptly threw down a challenge to proto MENSAites to beat them next time

Dinner Dance 2006

Well, we were all a bit slow in deciding whether we were going to the ball but in the end Suzette had organised a successful evening with around 100 of us having a great time as can be seen in the photos.

The Crowne Plaza was a great spot with excellent access to the dance floor- in other words the tables were not squashed too closely together. Food was fine, atmosphere excellent and the dance floor was full for virtually every dance. Ageing rockers and young twirlers all enjoyed the evening with some stunning frocks - turquoise seemed to be the colour of the moment with Nikki O'Kane being the brightest of them all.

Many of the pics were not fit for printing because of blur or someone getting in the way etc. I have deleted all these

Dinner Dance 2005
Phyllis Court did us proud again. 140 members and their friends had a great time at this wonderful venue by the Thames in Henley. Better food than before, more aperitifs and great dancing.

The usual raffle took place with first prize being a dinner for two at the Thai Orchid. A batik of the Tsunami as created by someone who actually saw the Tsunami was auctioned for charity with Toni Tucker bidding £200 for it. No compromised persons through inebriation and I believe eveyone managed to find their way home but if anyone knows of any juicy scandal, I'm only too happy to publish.

If you have any photos, please send them to me and I'll get them onto the web site. PMessing@tiscali.co.uk
