The functions and responsibilities of the Ladies, Mixed, Mens and Veterans team captains include: 1. To form a selection committee consisting of team captains and two others. There will be separate selection committees for ladies, mixed, mens and veterans. 2. Work with the selection committee to select teams to represent the club in all league and cup matches. Each captain to assist other captains. The mixed Captain may require assistance from the mens and ladies Captains. 3. Notify all players of time and place of matches. 4. Nominate a captain for each match and ensure he (or she!) has a match card (home and away) and that this match card is returned appropriately and promptly after the end of the match. 5. Ensure balls are available for home matches. 6. Make match results and commentary available for publication in the press and at www.mltc.co.uk. 7. Be conversant with regulations for County competitions published in the Berkshire LTA Handbook. Particular attention should be paid to: nominations, forwarding match cards, completion of team on match card before play, order of play, lateness, clothing. 8. Liaise with catering chairman, match secretary and Club Administrator, especially regarding court booking and cancellation of matches and arrangement of matches not on fixture list. 9. Play a leading role in the tournament sub-committee. 10. Attend committee meetings to report on progress of teams and tournaments and assist in general club business. 11. Preparation of annual report for the club AGM. |
