The duties and responsibilities of the Coaching Representative include:
Terms of Reference To provide the opportunity for all members of MLTC to receive coaching in order to improve their tennis skills through individual and group coaching at all levels. This is to be achieved through the appointment of an innovative coaching team that actively seeks to create and satisfy demand from the membership, making maximum use of the coaching courts and ensuring there are enough resources to achieve the above.
Accountabilities 1. To ensure the Head Coach & Assistant Coaches Service Schedules are being delivered. 2. Attend 'Playing & Coaching Committee' meetings and represent the Head Coach when absent to ensure all relevant information is filtered through. 3. To provide reports to the Executive Committee, regarding all Coaching and Club programmes and administration. 4. To appraise the Head Coach on an annual basis. 5. To co-ordinate with the Head Coach a 'Coaching Strategy', a three year development programme and ensure that the sports development continuum is evident. 6. Ensure that the Coaching team develop and deliver a coaching programme for all categories of members, establish an outreach programme and develop links with the LTA. 7. Assist in the personal development of the Head Coach. 8. To assist in establishing the Head Coach as the focal element of the Club environment within all sections of the membership. 9. Represent the members on all aspects of the coaching programme. 10. Ensure links are being developed with relevant partners 11. To ensure that all people dealing with juniors have been appropriately CRB checked or have completed self-declaration forms 12. To ensure that appropriate documents are filed centrally 13. To operate in accordance with the current club rules and regulations
Success Criteria 1. A comprehensive and successful coaching programme. 2. Good feedback from all sections of the Club including non-coached members. 3. Support and recognition from the Lawn Tennis Association and other partnerships. 4. Developing and maintaining high playing standards especially through the junior performance programme.
